Janine Jarman is the owner of Hairroin Salon with locations in L.A. and NYC. She’s also creating an online salon called Parlour H, so be on the lookout for that. We’re super excited she took the time to speak with us about her business, how influencer marketing has impacted her life—and the importance of being resilient and persistent …as well as surrounding yourself with an inspiring and creative team!

Q: Tell us a little bit about your business?

A: Hairroin has been in L.A. for 12 years and opened it’ doors in NYC 3 years ago. We started with the intention to house talented kind hairstylist and create a comfortable and inspired place for clients and that is what we do!

Q: What’s your favorite holiday?

A: I love all holidays but if I had to pick one it would be Halloween.

Q: What’s your favorite haircare product?

A: I love Oi Milk by Davines.  Almost everyone can use it!

Q: What’s did you want to be when you were a kid?

A: When I was really young I wanted to be a runway model (by the way I am currently four foot 10 inches)  only because I loved fancy clothes.  I then discovered my knack and love for hair early on in High School. Prompting me to start a Hair and Make Up business my Sophomore year in High School with my best friend Noel.

Q: How did you make your business stand out online?

A: We have a strong brand identity and stick to who we are. As well as posting real work from our talented team.

Q: Please share a valuable business skill you have?

A: Get up quick. You will fall, fail, and stumble. It’s the ability to keep a great attitude and bounce back fast that will set you apart and make it a much more enjoyable process.

Q. How has social media helped your business?

A: It has helped provide a place for each of our stylist to individually brand themselves. It’s a great way for clients to find their ideal stylist.

Q: What’s your best social media or influencer marketing tip?

A: Keep consistent!

Q: What’s the most important aspect of social media / influencer marketing for you?

A: Making sure that our content is clear and eye-catching. Also, engaging with our followers as much as possible. In the most genuine way possible of course!

Q: Which social media platform has been the most helpful for your business?

A: Instagram. It really shows our wide range of talent that our stylists have.

A: The stylists?

A: “Everyday I’m Hustlin’”

A: Lunch, Shabu Shabu

Q: What have you always wanted?

A: To be a mom and a boss.

A: Currently slaying the goals.

Q: Who’s your celebrity crush?

A: So embarrassing…. Zac Efron.

Q: What brands do you hope to work with in the future?

A: Currently wanting to make a connection with a makeup line…not sure which one yet.
