You know those flyers on college campuses—the ones that offer what seems like a decent amount of money in exchange for donating your body to science? This is not like that at all. Those college kids (aka human lab rats) never seem to come out on top, but being an early adopter and participating in beta testing for apps (not unlike our social media-based app) is mutually beneficial. Influencers and brands of the world, you don’t just help us iron out the kinks. We made a brief list to help coax you into downloading not just REP but other apps in similar stages. Here now is that list, submitted in no particular order:

1) Less People!

Think of it as a crowded new restaurant. Often times when a restaurant opens, you’re waitlisted, or you put your name down for a table months down the line. Who knows if you’ll be in the mood for said cuisine—let alone alive! With beta, early adopters get access to what would be considered the restaurant’s soft opening, where the menu is only starting to take shape. Influencers and brands: Eat your heart out without crowds getting in the way. Learn what you like, what you don’t, and figure out if it’s a place you’d like to revisit.

2) More opportunity to make money and get noticed.

Usually, the algorithms favor active participants. Think of Instagram. The more you use it and engage your fan base, the more prominently you’re featured. REP isn’t any different. We know we sound like a broken record, but this applies to both influencers and brands, as our app is meant to service both. Learn the social media tool provided and manipulate it to your advantage. With REP that will mean more attention, which will most likely yield more money, honey!

3) Get to grow with the social media app while it’s growing!

Again, don’t think lab rat—even focus group sounds too clinical and severe. The word “consultant” has the right ring to it. Social Media Apps are listening. You are, effectively, our consultants. Beta testing isn’t an exercise in vanity. No engineer is sitting there thinking, OMG look at how pretty my app is! No, guys, in our case, that means you, influencers and brands, we need your help. To quote Jerry Maguire, “Help me, help you.” We’re listening. Communicate. Tell us what works, and what doesn’t. What you like and what you don’t. Rest assured, we’re coming to the ball dressed in our most flattering attire—but we trust in you, and we’re not so thick-headed to think version 1.0 is the end. All apps release updates and we’re relying on you to help us make the updates that much better. But again, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that it’s not all about us. Early adopters will learn the tricks of the trade and have a leg up on the competition—and that’s nothing to disregard.

Social Media

(This is meant to represent an opportunity passing you by. By that we mean beta-testing new social media apps.)
